It was noticeable how enthusiastic the team were and how relaxed and at ease they made everything. Each member had gone to an awful lot of trouble, thank you. Thank you for giving staff (EYFS) advice on how to approach teaching about significant people.
Deputy HeadThe workshop exceeded expectations. Seeing the artefacts first hand was most interesting. We wish we had more time!
Phase LeaderI really enjoyed the personal angle the presenters brought to the workshop: talking about their personal lives and experiences. The children pointing out similarities and differences between the two presenters and exploring what the children had to say in response to this was really interesting. I liked the display at the back of the hall but unfortunately, due to time constraints, didn’t get to explore it properly (our fault due to the hall needing to be used for lunches!). Both the adults and children got a lot out of the workshops and it really complemented our Black History Month planning and teaching. There is nothing that I think could be improved or done differently. It is my intention to continue to work to diversify our curriculum so that the study of black history does not become a “token” gesture. Thank you for a fantastic workshop!
EAL Co-ordinatorPupils enjoyed learning about how Black people have made a difference to our lives today. They liked to see the artefacts from Black History.
TeacherPupils really enjoyed the workshop, especially the game guessing the adults’ names.
TeacherPupils enjoyed the inventions video and the famous people, particularly Marcus Rashford who they could relate to.
TeacherVery interesting and detailed; extremely thought provoking.

This was our first time participating in BHM and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The resources were really clear and easy to follow and the workshops were engaging and interesting. The children loved the portrait competition. There was a buzz around the school as children learnt new topics and themes and were encouraged to think deeply and consider their responses to difficult issues. Thank you for your support.
